Who pays for the vehicle report? Cost coverage in detail
Accident not your fault, partial fault, or a valuation report with no accident involved: who covers the cost of the report in each case.
Accident not your fault
In an accident that wasn't your fault, the other party's liability insurer covers the full cost of an independent damage report — as part of your claim for damages under § 249 BGB.
Partial fault
If partial liability is established, the insurers involved share the costs according to the fault ratio. We explain transparently what share falls to you before you commission us.
Valuation report with no accident involved
For valuation reports, for example for a purchase, sale, inheritance or divorce, there is no insurer to cover the cost. Here we tell you the cost upfront as a clearly calculated fixed price.
